A Parent Guide to Hearing Loss
Itinerant programs are programs where a special educator or another professional (physical therapist/occupational therapist), offering related services, comes to the school and works with the child once or twice a week per his or her IEP.
PROS:
-
The professionals are coming into the school, so this is good if the parents cannot afford services
-
There is a lot of one-on-one instruction
CONS:
-
The child only receives services when the professional comes to his or her school
-
They may not get consistent services
